The story

Founded by Sir Hugh Glenborough on his return from service in 1947, Glenborough Stud has stood at the heart of Irish thoroughbred breeding for nearly eight decades. The current stud is run by his granddaughter Imogen, who has kept the operation small and selective — never more than twenty mares — and has won quietly across the classic flat distances. The pasture management at Glenborough is the unfashionable kind: long rotations, ankle-deep cover, and the conviction that a foal raised on Tipperary limestone moves differently for the rest of its life.
